Giveaway: Books and Bags!

With the coming holidays, now seems like a good time to do a giveaway. The two main prizes include a bookbag with a choice of a book! As secondary prizes, additional books will be offered! In some cases there may be more than one copy of a book, which means you have a better chance of winning your choice!

The contest runs until Dec 2, 2012. As you can see from the rafflecopter entry form there are several ways to enter. The only mandatory entry is to leave a comment with the book you want. This is where you’ll enter your email. It will only be used for the purposes of the contest. Junior may pick a random winner to win one of the books that you add to your wishlists so don’t be afraid to enter all the books you want in your Amazon, B&N, GR, etc wishlist!

Here are the prizes:

Maria’s Bookbag (The smaller bag on the right in the picture). Yes, I sewed it. Yeah, it’s got a lot of crooked stitches. In fact, the bag is crooked. It’s smaller at the bottom than the top. BUT it will still hold books or groceries or beloved possessions. Think of it as a “collectible.”

Bag by GreenLadyBag.com – (The larger bag on the left). You can guess who sewed this bag! And it’s a very nice bag, with nice stitching! I recommend GreenLadyBags. If you haven’t won a bag from her yet, now is your chance to win this one!

Pot Holders! Yes, another crooked, collectible item sewn by me! We are talking one of a kind here (thank God). These potholders can not only be used with pots, they may inspire giggles. Fits of giggles when you see it.

Books: There are several options here. Some are ebooks and some are print books. If you have an e-reader, you can select any of the books that have EBOOK in the description. I can gift the books to you in either ePUB or Kindle format where gifting is available (B&N, Amazon, Amazon UK, Smashwords!)

Because not everyone has an e-reader (what are you waiting for???) there are also some choices in print! (Print books may not be available to ship to all countries; mine can be shipped anywhere bookdepository.com ships, but for signed editions listed, you will need to be in the US.)

Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Mystery Choices
From the Moon Shadow Series, Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Mysteries: (Book 1 or Book 2) Adriel is an earth witch, selling a few herbal spells here and there. She never goes looking for trouble, but wouldn’t you know it–with or without magic, it finds her. PRINT OR EBOOK of Under Witch Moon or Under Witch Aura

by Frank Tuttle – a SIGNED, PRINTED copy of The Broken Bell, the sixth book in the Markhat Urban Fantasy series. This is a true collectible here. Tuttle is a genuine ghost hunter (Yeah, he’s weird. Fits in around here if you ask me.) He also still has his free short story posted for any of you who wish to sample his writing. (Scroll down on my blog until you see the ghost. The link is there.)

Bayou Moon
– Ilona Andrews (Urban Fantasy) The second book in The Edge series; paperback. The first in this series, On The Edge, is one of my favorite books of all time!!!! So worth reading. The second is up for grabs here on the blog: Cerise Mar and her clan are cash poor but land rich, claiming a large swathe of the Mire, the Edge swamplands. When her parents vanish, her clan’s long-time rivals are suspect. But all is not as it seems. PRINT ONLY

Straight to Heaven by Michelle Scott – Hell’s newest employee, Lilith Straight, thinks she’s got a handle on her job as the Devil’s temptress until she finds herself going horns-to-halo with a guardian angel who’s determined to rescue Lilith’s next victim. To make matters worse, William Darcy, the hottest demon in hell, is trying to undermine Lilith’s mission with a few temptations of his own. EBOOK ONLY

Humorous Mysteries and Cozy Mysteries

From the Sedona O’Hala Series, Contemporary/humor Mysteries: (Book 1, Book 2 or Book 3) Sedona must solve a few crimes while fighting her way up the corporate ladder; mostly she dangles from her fingertips, just trying to survive. She runs into danger, the corporate glass ceiling, and an occasional chance at romance in her quests to separate the bad guys from the good–and sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference! PRINT OR EBOOK of Executive Lunch, Retention, or Sick Days

Catch an Honest Thief – Mystery/Romance: An Indiana Jones-style caper across the desert of New Mexico; high-tech gadgets, a mystery and a romance. PRINT OR EBOOK

No Money Down by Julie Moffett — I read and reviewed Moffett’s No One To Trust — in short, it is highly recommended–fun, funny and a great read! If you enjoyed Sedona’s capers, you’ll love this series! EBOOK version of No Money Down OR a very special, Collectible SIGNED Print edition of No One Lives Twice. When designing a book cover, sometimes a few copies are made with a cover that ends up not being the production cover. The author, Julie Moffett, happens to have one such cover left. And it’s beautiful! One lucky winner will received this print copy (and this is where I want to enter my own dang contest to win!!!)

Who Do, VooDoo – Rochelle Staab (cozy mystery) Clinical psychologist Liz Cooper doesn’t believe in ghosts. But when her best friend finds a tarot card tacked to her front door-and is then accused of murder-Liz will have to find a way to embrace the occult if she wants to outwit the real killer… PRINT ONLY (PSST, her latest book is also out: Bruja Brouhaha I haven’t read it yet because I just found out about it!)

Dragons of Wendal – Fantasy/Romance: Learning new magic isn’t as easy as Zoe expected, especially when the mages at Gorgon University seem dead set against teaching. Add in some necessary late-night sneaking about, and Zoe is almost certain to be kicked out. As for exploring the intriguing mysteries across the border in Wendal, well, it has more teeth than she ever imagined. PRINT OR EBOOK

Magical Mayhem, which includes most of my short stories in one print volume. PRINT ONLY (If there is a particular short story you’re missing from your ebook collection, you can specify that as the book you’d like to win.)

Wistril Compleat by Frank Tuttle – All three of Wistril’s magical misadventures are included in this complete compilation of cantrips and catastrophes! EBOOK ONLY.

  1. I want a Maria original, so your bag please. :)

Books, hmmm, Catch an Honest Thief and Broken Bell. Both I want to read. Catch an Honest Thief if I HAVE to choose one.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

    Comment by kindle-aholic — November 20, 2012 @ 10:33 am

  2. POTHOLDERS! Those rock. Pretty and practical! As for a book, I’m going to have to go with the Julie Moffat since I’ve been listening to you rave over it since you read it.

    Comment by April — November 20, 2012 @ 10:48 am

  3. I want at least two of the books on this list…

    Comment by Maria — November 20, 2012 @ 11:19 am

  4. I’d like to have a Green Lady bag – hadn’t heard of her until you mentioned her on the cozy forum. And since I haven’t read them yet, I’d like to start with the first in the Sedona series. I’ve heard rave reviews about them!

    Comment by Sherry Barbour — November 20, 2012 @ 12:28 pm

  5. Oddly, I have all of the Schneider books already;-) So my wish list now holds the Staab and Moffat books. Bag – potholder – potholder – bag – hm, I dunno. With the holidays coming up there will be a lot of cooking so I’d go for potholder;-)

    Comment by Northern Lights — November 20, 2012 @ 1:48 pm

  6. I’d take the Maria made bag, because Maria is my friend and I would cherish anything made by her. Bag over potholder, even tho the potholders are my favorite color, because one can never have enough bags. I have all of Maria’s books in e-format so I’d probably go for one of the Tuttle books. I haven’t read either and don’t already own them. I have the Staab and the Scott already. Either the Andrews or the Moffett books would be okay, too.

    Comment by readerlady/ Dee — November 20, 2012 @ 2:33 pm

  7. I really like the Maria Bag or potholder. I’ve always been drawn to flawed items (orphaned things). I like cozy mysteries so I would choose Catch an Honest Thief or Julie Moffet’s No One Lives Twice. Print copies, please. I still prefer holding a book.

    Comment by Darlene Peterson — November 20, 2012 @ 2:34 pm

  8. Okay, what do you mean by URL to wish list? Do you mean our email addy? I’m confused. Remember, not everyone who loves your website and will enter this contest is a techie!

    Comment by readerlady/ Dee — November 20, 2012 @ 2:47 pm

  9. Dee, the wishlist is just whichever wishlist you added the books to–so if you added it to Amazon wishlist, enter Amazon or the URL for your wishlist. If you have a wishlist at B&N and you entered books there, it would be B&N or the URL (web address) to your B&N wishlist!

    Comment by Maria — November 20, 2012 @ 3:22 pm

  10. Is it ethical for me to enter if I’m part of the giveaway? I really, really would like the Maria bag. Any of the Maria bags or potholders. :)

    Comment by Julie Moffett — November 20, 2012 @ 4:11 pm

  11. You haven’t seen the stitches on that bag…

    Comment by Maria — November 20, 2012 @ 7:24 pm

  12. Under Witch Moon, print copy, and a potholder, please.
Dragons of Wendal, print copy, and a potholder, please.
Under Witch Aura, print copy, and a potholder, please.

    Comment by Lynn Delage — November 20, 2012 @ 9:03 pm

  13. I forgot to say I would love to have any of Maria’s books (e-book is preferred) or an e-copy of Catch an Honest Thief.

    Comment by Julie Moffett — November 20, 2012 @ 9:19 pm

  14. I’d like anything by Julie Moffett!

    Comment by Linda Cummings — November 20, 2012 @ 9:28 pm

  15. Okay, so you mean like amazon.com or B&N.com? If not, then you’ll need to spell it out in words of one syllable/non-techie variety. I’m definitely NOT techie. I’m only computer semi-literate.

    Comment by readerlady/ Dee — November 20, 2012 @ 10:51 pm

  16. Green ladt bag & Who Do Voodoo. :)

    Comment by Jamie McCauley — November 21, 2012 @ 12:49 am

  17. Yes, Dee you have the right of it! Just add the books to your Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble (or whatever retailer) wish list and you get extra entries!

    Comment by Maria — November 21, 2012 @ 7:14 am

  18. I would like the Maria made bag. You must have taught yourself to sew, cause I can only remember us taking the cooking part of the home ec class in junior high! Remember the class we got out of taught by Mr. Harris? Ugh… well anyway, I would like to have a print copy of Dragons of Wendal. Or e-book of Catch an Honest Thief.

    Comment by Suzan — November 21, 2012 @ 8:32 am

  19. Oh-ho! If I had taught myself to sew properly there wouldn’t be needle holes in that bag where I sewed the handle to the inside…let’s remember it’s a COLLECTIBLE!

I refuse to remember that class. But I still maintain it was you who almost started the room on fire with that volcano. Sure I built the thing, but actually putting flame in it was NOT my idea!!!

    Comment by Maria — November 21, 2012 @ 8:39 am

  20. Oh, I would love the potholders! And Straight to Heaven by Michelle Scott. Fun contest!!!

    Comment by Karen Cantwell — November 21, 2012 @ 10:38 am

  21. @Linda — Julie Moffett’s books rock, don’t they??!!!

    Comment by Maria — November 21, 2012 @ 10:41 am

  22. Well, I would like Maria’s bookbag (of course 😉 ) and “Straight to heaven” because *whispering* I’ve read almost all the others one…

    Comment by Marisa — November 21, 2012 @ 1:12 pm

  23. Whadda ya know! I actually got something right?! I did add one of the books to my wishlist. So —

BTW Maria, you may want to check your blog post for glitches. I just received one today dated OCTOBER 29. It was the one about Frank Tuttle’s free short story download.

    Comment by readerlady/ Dee — November 21, 2012 @ 1:57 pm

  24. Thanks Dee! Yeah, I was moving some of them around (to different categories) and didn’t realize that meant they’d get sent again. Go figure. Stupid computer. Sorry about that. I’ll try to stop organizing… :)

    Comment by Maria — November 21, 2012 @ 1:59 pm

  25. Oh, okay. As long as you know what caused it, no problem. I don’t remember getting it originally, but I subscribe for your blog on my Kindle, plus you mentioned the story on the cozy forum, so I had already downloaded it. I thought it might be an email glitch of some sort.

BTW — can I say %&*^( !! This is the second time I’ve missed a cheap Hillerman download. He’s one of my favorites, and “Sacred Clown” is one I don’t have in any form, although I have read it.

    Comment by readerlady/ Dee — November 21, 2012 @ 3:28 pm

  26. I would love the Bag by GreenLadyBag.com – Book: Collectible SIGNED Print edition of No One Lives Twice.

    Comment by Elizabeth Reeves — November 21, 2012 @ 11:10 pm

  27. Yeah, I’m wanting that signed edition as well…

    Comment by Maria — November 22, 2012 @ 7:44 am

  28. I would love the potholder and the book the cllectable signed Print Edition of None One Live Twice.
    Thank you having this contest.

  38. Julie Moffett’s or any of your Cozy mysteries. They sounded fun on a cold wet Nov. day. Prefer a paper book but have and use eReaders. Would like any bag or pot pad. Found one in my parent’s house I made as a child. -Really colorful and really, really bad! Thank you.
    Happy Holidays.

    Comment by Diana — November 29, 2012 @ 11:09 am

  41. Diana, you would love The Broken Bell. The entire Markhat series is excellent. I’ve deleted your email from the post so that it can’t be spammed, but rest assured it is recorded as an entry.

    Comment by Maria — November 29, 2012 @ 11:12 am

  42. I’d love to play for Straight to Heaven by Michelle Scott in the kindle format. There’s many new to me authors and series that I haven’t read and sound great!

(I can’t see the robo form)

(Sorry the rafflecopter isn’t showing for you! No idea why, but I’ve securely entered your email and erased it from here so that no spammers find it! Thanks for entering!)

    Comment by Caffey — November 29, 2012 @ 1:29 pm

  43. I could really use a new potholder. Mine look like they came over from the old country and not in a good way. Under Witch Moon in a Kindle format would be my first choice but I’m not picky. They all sound good.

    Comment by Diane L Urbanec — November 29, 2012 @ 1:40 pm

  44. Diane, there’s a reason I needed to learn to sew potholders…I have several of those “old country” ones…!

    Comment by Maria — November 29, 2012 @ 1:44 pm

  45. I would love a chance to win Executive Sick Days (A Sedona O’Hala Mystery) eBook by Maria E. Schneider and either book bag or pot holder.

    Comment by Sandy — November 30, 2012 @ 10:32 am
