Time to sit down and embed myself in edits. I don’t know how other writers do it, but for me, it’s one of those immersion things. I have to hold several plot threads in my head, several ideas and several checkpoints. The faster I make a complete pass, the better because some of those thoughts like to fly right out of my head.
It’s a time of no vacuuming and no dusting (as if that ever happens). Many other chores get left in the “will do that later” bucket. Husband says that when I’m buried under my sheepskin, pounding on the computer, he can talk to me and I don’t answer. I think he’s making that up. I always answer when I hear him. He just has to talk over the noise of what I’m reading. Is it my fault if the voices of the characters are loud?
If all goes well, this thing will be ready for Beta Readers soon. Get your red pens ready, Beta Readers. Only this time…this time it will be perfect! I’m going to bury those plot holes so deep you won’t see them. My grammar might run along the cliff, but you’ll have to read close to a dangerous edge to find anything wrong and who will be brave enough? Typos? Phsaw! Those are like laundry. They can wait.
See you on the other side of the pages.
