I really like the purple cover, I think the color alone demands attention. You may want to consider adding a one liner, however, so you can really draw them in after you’ve made that initial colorful impact.

Unrelated: I worked in my local library here in Central Texas for almost two years–I love libraries and librarians (But then, all us book people do, don’t we???)

I really didn’t like A or B at first. Thought if I saw them on a library shelf I might pick up A but definitely not B. Then I saw C and thought…YES that makes it more appealing to me. Yes, I might be a lush once in awhile but really I just tried to use my long experience at picking hundreds and hundreds of books at my library each year for 45 years or more. AND I am a retired Librarian FINALLY!! Now some more time for some series, NOT!!!, reading!!

Thanks Beth–as you can see from the poll, you aren’t the only one that voted for neither! I did take some of the advice here and created the third cover (there were more votes for a martini glass than any other request!) I had no idea it would be so difficult to keep everyone satisfied! Thanks for stopping by and helping. If this cover isn’t perfect, I aim to make the next one so!

Neither one really grabs me. I feel like nothing about the photo cover says “cozy mystery”, but Cover A seems almost like clip art – it is too stripped down and simplified. I think a person on the cover would help, to give a sense of who Sedona is. I’m not a big fan of either font/script. Now I feel like a negative Nancy, but on the positive side, the story sounds great!!

After initially posting my comment, I read ones from others and saw your third cover option – MUCH better!! I’d definitely vote for that one.

Hi Maria,
Congratulations on your new book! I liked both of your covers until I saw the third one. I really like the third one. I am one of those who is really attracted to a book by its cover. The third one really grabs my attention. Plus, I am a golfer. In between two games my friends and I like to eat lunch at the clubhouse grill. There always seems to be someone who wants a drink! So, my vote is for the third one as it adds the connection of the luncheon and the golf. Love that iron head in the martini! I am really looking forward to seeing your book at Barnes and Noble in the near future!

Hi Danna, Don’t worry, if you voted for Cover A the first time around, I’m counting the new cover votes with Cover A (since it’s really an enhancement of Cover A!) So far no one has said they like cover A BETTER than the enhanced one, so I’m taking liberty in counting and putting them together.

Can I change my vote?!

If I can change it: I like your third book cover the most… and I’m not saying this just to make it even more difficult for you to tally up the votes. The addition of the martini glass with that golf club “swirler” is a winner (to me!)
