Amazon Black Friday Deals

Amazon posted some deals earlier (they were lame) and now they have updated ads and updated deals going on from now until after Thanksgiving. It looks like the main deals probably start November 17. These deals looked a little more intriguing, but it could just be the robot vacuum idea that caught my attention.

There’s also their Kindle Deals of the Day. And wouldn’t you know it’d be the cookbook that caught my eye. 🙂

Gifts for Cooks
Measuring cup WITH LID! The lid has slots and a mesh opening as well as a wide opening. I use the mesh one to brew tea! It’s a most excellent cup. I have been wanting one that was microwave safe with a lid forever.

A Really Great Spatula — Silicone spatulas are the best! This one is nice and firm–great for scooping cakes into pans, stirring stir fry, anything! I use this a LOT. (I also have a set of regular silicone spatulas that are very nice, but this one is shorter and fatter.) Great kitchen item!

  1. I ordered the measuring cup after reading your earlier post about it. It arrived yesterday. Great cup, but a bit heavy when full of liquid. If you have arthritic hands, it may be a bit much.

  2. It is one of the heavier ones (It also fits my thinner glass measuring cup, which is also a pyrex brand.) I like the heavier ones, but then, I love the cup!!!

  3. I now have two of those spatulas. They are great for scrambling eggs, but they are also great for folding in heavy ingredients.

  4. I’ve had a couple of robotic vacuums. They do a really good job while you keep your feet up, sipping tea and reading a good book. Unfortunately, they kept getting clogged with Angelo’s hair, not to mention mine when it was long. I had to cut the hair off the brushes every time.

  5. I have a Mint Evolution. It’s a sweeper type thing (has a cloth that catches things rather than brushes). It only works on tile or hard floors. The biggest problem with it is the owner. She doesn’t put it down to run often enough! I’m thinking of selling it on ebay and just admitting I need to do the work myself. It needs a new battery though.

  6. I’ll have to check that out. I have all tile floors.
