Still Got It

It’s nice to know that after 20 some years of marriage, I can still surprise my husband. When I told him that we needed to go buy rabbit manure yesterday, he said, ‘WHAT?!?”

“Rabbit manure.”

“Did you say rabbit?”

“Yup. Guy near here has some for sale.”

“I’ve never heard of rabbit manure. Why do we need rabbit manure?” By this time he was putting things together so he already knew the answer even though he asked.

“Garden. Good for tomato plants, and it’s not a hot mature like the other ones. I don’t have to worry about it burning the plants.”

“Yeah. Sure. Everyone knows that.”

We didn’t get a very good deal on it–I thought we were getting 50 pounds or thereabouts. Turns out the guy said he fills a 50 pound rabbit FOOD bag with manure–not that he was selling 50 pound bags. Food is heavier than manure, so really all I got was a single bag for 10 dollars. I did bring the rabbits some organic beet greens to eat. They’ll probably like them.

Meanwhile, today I hope to find some tycoons. If you see any, let me know!

  1. You know you have a good marriage when your husband goes with you to buy rabbit manure.

  2. I’m not sure if it’s the buying it or just putting up with my crazy ideas…but either way, he’s a good man!
