As you’ve seen before, we provide a variety of cat shelters for our kitties. They use them, but don’t like to use them up. Take for instance, Scamper. We recently cleaned off this shelter, turned the board to keep it from warping and, as before, put a brick on top to keep the board from blowing off. We position the brick so that the cats have lots of room to lounge. Or not, as they choose…

Yes, she has actually curled up in that spot with body parts hanging off, head on the brick and gone to sleep.

Nice try, humans. Foiled again!

  1. The brick must be nice and warm. Or Scamper has an eye/spatial problem. I’ve watched our cat try and fit her body in a box half her size. It’s pretty funny watching a square box develop round bulge…

  2. Oh, it’s warm all right. It’s been at or near 100 degrees for two or three weeks now. I don’t know what it is about cats and little spaces. She’ll sleep on top of things–right at the edge with a leg falling off the back end…
