Junior’s Territory

That kitten! This morning, I heard great growling and howling outside, so off I went to investigate. Sure enough Junior and the calico from next door were having a tussle. The problem was they were tussling way on the other side of the ditch over a 6 foot fence. And both those little goober cats know I can’t get over that fence without a ladder. So they yowled and screamed at each other while I threw rocks (Do not worry. The rocks only hit the concrete drain which isn’t even halfway to the cats.) In other words, they ignored me COMPLETELY. The human does NOT exist.

Shortly thereafter, Junior came home favoring one leg. ARGH. Of course we nabbed him to take a look and of course his leg had a large scratch. It was only bleeding very lightly, but when I cleaned it off, my gosh. You’d think I was taking a saw to it. Oh the agony that cat expressed. Good heavens. It was nearly as bad as the fight itself. He was highly insulted at having his leg washed and claimed all kinds of additional damage and mental suffering.

I’ll give him mental suffering. If he doesn’t behave, I’ll give all his legs a bath, which they need as he’s been out digging around and rolling in the dirt. Hmph.

  2. Well of course they ignored you. You really didn’t expect anything different, now did you? You’ll be on the “bad woman” list for a week now if your cats hold grudges like ours do. Cats have a mind of their own and you are only there to serve them.

  4. I’m telling you, a supersoaker would be worth its weight in gold for situations like this!

  5. Ok, maybe not gold. How about cement? Worth its weight in cement? No, that doesn’t work either. THIS is why I am not a writer.
