Dag-Nab-It Kitten!
This morning I dug up a handful of green onions. YUM. Looking forward to some delicious stroganoff. That’s the good news. The bad news is that Junior decided AFTER I came inside to “help” with the onions. He loves fresh dirt, especially damp cool earth that he can lay his belly in. ARGH. He traipsed his way into the onion patch where I taken a few prime morsels, decided not enough of it was clear and DUG UP MY BIGGEST bulb onion (1015 Y, if you must know, a highly prized onion in these parts.) Then he PLOPPED himself down and wallowed in the nice cool patch of dirt, smashing down a few more…
ARGH. SIGH. ARGH!
When I caught him at it and ordered him OUT OF THE ONIONS, he looked at me with that sublimely content kitten look. HE DID NOT MOVE.
I was FORCED to go get the little stinker and airlift him out of the onions. I found TWO other places where he had apparently “tested” the onions/dirt for suitable cat nesting. Three 1015ys completely dug up with careless abandon by a cat that loves to dig. I tell you what, that stinker just about got a spanking. VERY naughty, Junior. VERY naughty.
(Yes, it is true that while he is wallowing in the onions the birds do not get the 5 or 6 tomatoes that are turning red. BUT he knows better. He has been TOLD before to STAY out of the ONIONS!!!!) Hmph.
