It's true, moms are great and truly wonderous creatures, whether they set the stakes at impossible or slightly below. It is indeed a privilege and in my case, always an adventure, to help mine out.

Thankfully, while my mom is completely helpless when it comes to anything more complicated than her oven, she is very good with taking instruction and doesn't ever expect the impossible. Which makes it quite easy to say 'yes' when she calls and says, 'What are you doing Saturday? I just bought a new cabinet that needs to be put together.' This way I do something for her (while she searches for and hands me each tool) and we get to spend time together. We generally celebrate a completed project by going out to lunch. A nice way to spend a Saturday morning.
